The July 4 weekend in Downtown North Wilkesboro will be kicked off with the third installment of First Fridays.
This free event will feature music, shopping, and dining in downtown. The night begins at 5:30 p.m. and continues until 8 p.m.
The music for Friday night is sponsored by the Wilkes Public Library and GoWilkes.com. The Turbo Pro Project will be the featured band for the evening, and will be performing at the Brushy Mountain Ruritan Park on the corner of Main and 10th streets. This band fuses the banjo, Bluegrass, and Americana music with Hip-Hop and turntables. Band members include Adrian Trbovich, Milton Cockerham, Ryan Barber, and Kim France. Music will begin at 6 and last until 8 p.m.
As always, several downtown businesses will have extended hours on Friday night. The Wilkes Art Gallery’s Gift Shop will be open along with Gloria Sews, Girls on Tenth, Hallmark/Quickframe, Taupe Gallery and D’Moser Travels.
In addition, restaurants will be open during the event. They include Key City Grille, 6th and Main, Branciforte’s, Big Tom’s, Keystone Grill, and Talia’s. Talia’s will also have live music performed by The Sunset Fourtet. The Sunset Fourtet is a jazz and blues band. Music at Talia’s will be going on from 6-8 p.m.
